The Fine Print

This cottage is beautiful if you like rustic, privacy, nature and mobility is not an issue.

It was built by the original owner in 1964 who used the trees from clearing the property to build it. It is still in its original form with some updates to the stairs, decks and walkways to ensure it meets all safety standards.

This unique cottage also has some minor challenges due to the type of build that it is and its location. These are some of the things that should be known prior to renting.

The drive in from the main road to the cottage is about 5 minutes and can be bumpy and has rough gravel patches.

Garbage and recycling bins are located just outside of the cottage and renters are responsible for bringing their garbage  and recycling to the Rosewarne Landfill prior to the end of your stay.

Located at 1062 Rosewarne Dr, Bracebridge, ON P1L 0A1

https://www.muskoka.on.ca/en/garbage-and-recycling/rosewarne-landfill.aspx

Although tap water is safe to drink from, there is a water cooler in the kitchen. If you choose to use it then you will need to replace it prior to the end of your stay. Water bottles can be purchased at most grocery stores in Bracebridge.

The stairs down to the dock are many. This can be a great workout for most, however if you have mobility concerns the dock area might not be accessible.

There is no air-conditioning. There will be a couple fans available if needed.

Although there is internet available it is a DSL connection and not sufficient for downloading movies or gaming.

And lastly… you might spot the occasional mouse inside which is not uncommon as this is part of the unique nature of the way this cottage was built. We do our best to safely control these critters but sometimes one might show up as this is a "cottage in the woods" and nature is a big part of it.
